With the coming of the new year we approach the first anniversary of the founding of Futurist Letters. As such, I'd like to share an update.
For 2024, we stuck to a fairly rigid publishing schedule of Wednesday mornings every week for new posts. This was both to develop our rhythm with the audience and help establish consistency in our editorial discipline. Starting next year, we will be transitioning to a more flexible schedule, with stories and essays going live as they are complete and ready to share.
We do not expect this to reduce our ability to accept quality work, and if anything this change increases our capacity. The overall publication volume in a given month will depend on the quality of submissions, but our standards will remain at least as high as they have been the past twelve months.
We're making this change so we can evaluate the comparative strengths of the two regimes. If the first part of 2025 shows us that our regimented schedule was stronger, we will revert to the old way of doing things.
The advertisement drive has been a success so far, and we encourage interested parties to email us at futuristads@askariproductions.com. As a reminder, we do the graphic design ourselves at no charge, and at the time of writing charge $40 for one month of around 9,000 quality literary impressions.
In other exciting news, we will also be moving forward with a print edition of selected stories and essays from 2024. This should be available to purchase sometime in the first few months of 2025.
Thank you to all paid subscribers for your patronage. The journal will continue to evolve and take on its own culture as the new year progresses, and I’m excited to see how it all unfolds.
As always, we welcome your submissions.
